TikTok Bans HD Video Streaming for 30 Days in Europe


Short mobile video sharing platform TikTok has temporarily banned high definition (HD) video playback. Currently, users will not be able to play HD videos for the next thirty days at TickTalk. Before TickTalk, Facebook took this step, reducing the quality of video streaming on the main social networking site Facebook and Instagram. At present, the company has taken this decision in Europe. Tittock may soon announce a reduction in HD video streaming in India as well.

The government has announced a nationwide lockdown to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection. In such a situation, a large number of people are using social networking and video streaming websites and apps at home. At the same time, employees of many private companies are working from home. In such a situation, the demand for Internet in the country has increased these days. Due to the increase in Internet demand, all video streaming providers Amazon Prime Video has reduced Netflix streaming quality.

Explain that last week, the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) had appealed to the streaming service providers to reduce the streaming quality due to the huge demand in the internet due to the lockdown, which causes a lower load of internet speed on the telecom providers. Telecom companies say that reducing the video quality from HD to SD can reduce internet traffic by 15-20%.

In the wake of the coronavirus infection crisis, many brothers-in-law are working from home. In such a situation, there has been a 40% increase in traffic on the network of telecom and internet provider companies. Expressing concern in a report by The Indian Express that the increase in digital usage is putting additional pressure on the telecom service provider companies to maintain the network infrastructure.
